Per-square-foot figures use the top of each band, the best case; a yard near the bottom of a band pays the same flat price for fewer square feet, so its real per-foot rate is higher. Over 5,000 square feet, everything is quoted individually.
Why small yards cost more per foot
Pricing by flat band, not a straight per-foot rate, is deliberate: a proper visit involves loading and unloading equipment, walking the whole property, and a minimum amount of time on site no matter how small the turf is, which is also why there is a $199 minimum per visit. A 520-square-foot yard and a 1,000-square-foot yard both fall in the same $249 Essential Clean band, so the smaller of the two is paying more per square foot for the identical visit. The effect is strongest at the bottom of the smallest band: a 150-square-foot side yard still costs the $199 minimum, which works out to well over a dollar a square foot.

What moves a yard between bands
Square footage is the main driver, but condition pushes a yard from Essential to Premium regardless of size: pets, algae, matted paths, or a first-ever professional clean all call for the treatments only Premium Restoration includes. Add-ons sit outside the per-square-foot number entirely and are quoted after inspection: infill work at $0.35 to $1.50 a square foot depending on whether it is redistributed or replaced, and flat add-ons like a heavy odor treatment ($75–$150) or a repair (from $175–$250) that do not scale with yard size at all. A worked example
Take an 850-square-foot backyard on the Grand Strand, sized just under the 1,000-square-foot line, with one dog. It falls in the 501–1,000 sq ft band: a Premium Restoration is $399, which works out to about $0.47 a square foot for this yard specifically, higher than the ~$0.40 the band's ceiling would suggest, because the yard is smaller than the top of its band. Add a heavy pet-odor treatment at the low end, $75, and the total is $474 for the visit, or about $0.56 a square foot all in.
What the rate includes
At every band, both tiers include debris removal, turf blowing, and a finish check so the yard is blown clean when we leave. Essential Clean adds power brushing and a surface rinse; Premium Restoration adds the enzyme, antimicrobial, algae and infill work. None of the add-ons, extra infill, repairs, heavy odor treatment, are folded into the per-square-foot number; they are quoted after we see the yard, and the current bands are always on the pricing page. The same logic applies to memberships: a flat monthly rate buys four visits a year regardless of exactly which week they land, which is a different kind of pricing than the per-visit, per-square-foot numbers on this page, and worth comparing separately if the yard is booked three or more times a year.
The cost of doing nothing
Skipping a year does not keep the per-square-foot rate the same. A yard that would have been an Essential Clean often needs the Premium treatments by the time it is addressed, adding $100 to $150 to the same square footage, and a yard whose infill has gone thin or crusted in the meantime adds $0.35 to $1.50 a square foot on top of that.
