Turf cleaning in Socastee and Forestbrook

A backyard has one or two dogs. A boarding run has dozens, every day, on the same few thousand square feet, in a climate where the infill never fully dries — the maximum bacterial load turf can carry.

The fix is a schedule: solids off daily by staff, and on our visit a high-volume flush, antimicrobial treatment, and infill replacement where zones have crusted. Quoted monthly or quarterly, by square foot.

Riverbend and Cypress River Plantation get the Waterway's humidity on top of the region's — shaded strips near the water grow algae first.

Inland, older Brandy Mill and Hunters Ridge turf has thinned and flattened along paths: a brush-and-top-up job. Forestbrook Estates and Crescent Cove's newer turf just needs its first proper clean after the builder's pollen season.

Arrowhead Country Club's 27 holes run along the Waterway and Prestwick, the Pete Dye course, is close by. The backyard greens in the golf-adjacent streets share a problem with the club practice greens: pine straw and oak leaves on the surface all fall, and a green that is not blown off is slow and bumpy by spring. Putting green restoration brings the speed and the roll back; blowing it off weekly keeps it.

Socastee is unincorporated Horry County; the stormwater ordinance treats any non-stormwater discharge as illicit, apart from a short exempt list that does not cover wash water with cleaning products.
