Does Barefoot Resort's HOA allow artificial turf?
TIMELESS Turf Restoration cleans and restores backyard greens and turf already down across Barefoot Resort, on the Grand Strand. Cleaning an existing green isn't new installation, but the Master ARC does list artificial turf as prohibited on single-family lots outside Leatherleaf and Dye Estates, which run separate design boards. We don't install turf anyway; if a repair would visibly change what's there, check with your ARC first.
Key takeaways
- Leatherleaf and Dye Estates alone run their own design boards.
- Master ARC guidelines (2025) list artificial turf as prohibited.
- West-side water tests far higher in sodium than the beach blend.
- Pond and wetland buffers need ARC, often Army Corps, sign-off.
Which section you're in
Leatherleaf and Dye Estates run their own design boards; Coquina Pointe, Bridle Ridge, Cedar Creek, Somerset, Sweetbriar, Park Hill, Longbridge, Oak Pointe and Brookstone all answer to the Master ARC. We confirm your section before quoting anything beyond a routine clean.
Four courses, backyard greens
Barefoot Resort opened in 2000 around four courses by Norman, Love, Fazio and Dye. Most backyard greens cluster in the older estate sections, under pine and live oak canopy — see putting green restoration.
Brian prices it by square foot before any work starts, and every job ends blown clean.
Bull Creek water and white residue
West-side lots run on Bull Creek water only — 270 ppm sodium against 51 ppm for the beach-side blend. Check the irrigation schedule before assuming hard water on a chalky green.
What the Master ARC says about turf
Wetland buffers, if your lot backs to one
Buffers along a pond or wetland can't be touched without ARC, and often Army Corps of Engineers, sign-off — that covers grading or drainage work, not routine turf cleaning near the water's edge.
What it costs in Barefoot Resort
| Essential Clean | $199–$599 |
| Premium Restoration | $299–$899 |
| Backyard green | $299–$899 |
