How often should artificial turf be professionally cleaned?
A people-only artificial lawn needs a professional deep clean once or twice a year. A yard used by one dog does best with a quarterly clean; two or more dogs, a dog run or a daycare needs monthly to quarterly attention with odor treatment. Why the coast moves everything up a notch
Turf-care advice written for a drier climate assumes the infill dries out between rains. On the Grand Strand it does not, from spring through fall. Damp infill keeps odor bacteria active and grows algae in the shade, and the spring pollen load adds a layer of organic matter every year that the dry-climate advice never mentions. Ten minutes a week covers it. Pick up solid waste daily. Rinse the pet zone with the hose in the evening. Blow leaves and needles off before they mat in, especially off a green.
