What not to do
- Do not scrub with a stiff brush while it is wet. It grinds waste into the infill.
- Do not use bleach. It lightens turf, damages backing and kills the plants at the border.
- Do not pressure wash. It blows the infill and the waste across the yard.
- Do not use a wire brush or a metal rake. They tear fibers.
When it needs more than a hose
If the spot smells after it dries, the residue reached the infill and it needs a proper odor treatment. If it happens often, or the infill in that area has darkened or crusted, the infill itself is contaminated and should be extracted and replaced. Both are one-visit jobs across the Grand Strand.
